How to Keep Praying When It’s Hard
What’s the best praying strategy? How do we find ourselves in such dilemmas?
1. Designate a secret prayer room to eliminate any struggles.
2. Turn off electronic devices; remove yourself from a crowded room to eliminate any distractions.
3. Increase prayer minutes to increments of five to recover lost time.
4. Yearn to experience God’s closeness with you. Open your heart and let him in. Rest in silence in your secret room. Connect with your Father in prayer to shorten the distance between you and Him.
5. Remove any anxious feeling of rushing your time with God. Reschedule unimportant to-dos to a later time to eliminate a false sense of urgency.
6. Don’t feel bad if you’re the only one praying in your family. Pray for them to hear God voice. Be drawn to him.
7. Feel confident God hears you. He does not leave you alone even in prayer. He knows what you need even before you ask. Don’t feel discouraged.
8. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep you focused, for the grace of a keen mind for prayer awareness. Persevere during the evil of distractions.
9. God sees our hearts. Pray with intention. Prayer is important and powerful.
10. Be intentional in your prayer petitions. Create basic daily prayers that will carry you throughout the day reinforcing your devotion to God. It pleases him with great delight when you develop the groundwork of your prayer life.
11. Always make sure your intentions are genuine, honest and open. Be sincere.
12. God welcomes us back even in our brokenness and sinfulness. Be intentional in your repentance. His receives us with love and mercy.
13. Trust that every prayer, every word is helpful to every soul needing prayer. Know they hunger for prayerful comfort. Prayer is fruitful food to the soul. It is always good enough.
14. Offer up to God your emptiness, or feeling not good enough of a prayer warrior in humility. Submit yourself totally to God. Trust, he sees our hearts in the scarcity of prayer. He knows all. Give totally to him in surrender.
15. Always seek the flight plan God has you set on. He is the map. Follow his directions in prayer.
