Praying When You Don’t Feel Like It
How is your prayer time? Don’t feel like it at times?
Busy day? Work, kids, housecleaning? Etc. Does it need polishing?
What value do we place on prayer?
Pause for a minute and think about these small tips:
1. Be faithful to Jesus with ten-fifteen minutes daily. Tell him about your day.
2. Choose time of day to connect with God. Tell him you miss him and you love him. He’s your dad. Those minutes will be fulfilling.
3. Make room for him in your heart. Be loyal to him. He loves you and is faithful.
4. Do forget to pray with for others-family, friends. You may find yourself talking to God a little longer than expected.
5. Don’t rush or force yourself to pray. Glorify the Lord slowly. Offer that time to our Lord.
6. Love is about faithfulness. Be there for God and others through prayer. And he will always be there for you.
7. Daily prayer is an act of love to God. Let’s not forget to show up.
8. Maybe a change in your style of prayer is needed. Refresh. Reboot.
9. Schedule 10-15-minutes of prayer time before work or after dinner. It’s a great start to your day. Or, a cool down from a busy day. He is refreshment.
10. Do an inventory of your God-time. Prioritize those miscellaneous chores. Divide them out throughout the week.
11. Give God friendship-time. He wants to hear from you. It’s vital like breathing. How much time can you allocate to a friend?
12. Does your praying make you feel energized, encouraged? Bring intention to your praying.
13. Prayer is essential. It builds a relationship with God. And we need that.
14. Do you feel your prayers are not productive? He does hear you. Go deep into your interior prayer life. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. To lead you.
15. Be led by the Spirit. He’s our counselor, advocate, and friend. Prayer is important to build the foundation for our relationship with God. He gives us purpose. Hear him.
