A Suffering Surrendered
Father, I am here to surrender myself to you, frail in mind, body, soul, and spirit. I come to rest within your loving arms to let go all my suffering of/in ______ to you. And ask why has this befallen me? This misery, and for how long?
Father, is this your will for me? To agonize over this pain? This helplessness?
I know it is not for me to question why your healing has not come. Why my impatience has clouded my perseverance. Yet I know I must trust in you and obey. For You know the why and for whom. Grace me with fortitude and understanding that in your own time, not mine, your healing will come upon me.
So, today, Father, is this your will for me? If so, to whom do I direct my suffering?
But if this is a spiritual persecution with ill intentions Father, I pray for him/her to have the necessary conversion to receive your healing. That your protection begins as soon as they turn from evil doings and do good toward their fellowman. That healing for their soul, and my forgiving him/her received.
Be merciful Father through the Blood and Water that gushed out from the heart of your Beloved Son, as an ocean of mercy for us all, pour upon him/her so all will go well for them as they return to you.
I know you want me in good health to continue to do your work. Cover my whole being with your Son’s Precious Blood who gave his life for me. Protect and save me, to glorify you always.
So, without reserve and full of confidence I surrender it all to you today, tomorrow and tomorrow’s tomorrows.
Mary, Mother of our dear Lord Jesus Christ, and with your intercession, help me. In Jesus name and in union with the Holy Spirit, I pray. Amen.
Father…I hear you now.
